VOLUNTEERING PROFILER

FOR.W.A.R.D. – FOR W(holesome) A(ctive) R(ural) D(evelopment) is a dynamic and challenging project that addresses all young people, regardless of gender, religion, social or educational background. The project takes place for 9 months and develop in 5 rural communities of Gorj County, Romania.
SEED II addressed the aim to spur the involvement, active participation and cooperation between Roma and Romanian youngsters. The project involved 10 volunteers from 8 Programme Countries and has been implemented in Craiova for 9 months, in three locations: Mofleni, Popoveni and Catargiu.
W.A.V.E - W(orldwide) A(ctive) V(olunteers) in E(urope) is a Group EVS project implemented in 18 rural and small urban communities from Gorj and Dolj County – South West Romania that will gather 38 young volunteers from Programme, Neighbouring Partner and Other Countries of the World.

ACT – EM, Active Citizenship, Tolerance and Engagement of Minorities, Romania, June 15th 2010 – June 15th 2011

Active Citizenship, Tolerance and Engagement of Minorities will bring together 22 volunteers from Europe, Caucasus, Latin America and Africa, for a period of 1 year, starting with June 15th, 2010.

Experiencing Active Citizenship in Rural Areas, Romania, March 10th 2010 – December 9th 2010

Experiencing Active Citizenship in Rural Areasis going to bring together 10 volunteers from Europe for a period of 9 months, starting with March 10th ,  2009. 
The project aim is threefold: increasing volunteers social and personal development, community development and Increased participation of Young People and Partnership development - encouraging local and international cooperation.

Access Volunteering in Europe, Romania, May 1st 2010-August 31st 2010

Access Volunteering in Europe is going to bring together 6 french volunteers for a period of 4 months, starting with May 1st ,  2010.

S.E.E.D., Romania, January 15th 2010 – October 15th 2010

SEED (Sport Education for intEgration Development) is a Group EVS project having as main aim the involvement, active participation and cooperation between Rroma and Romanian youngsters. The project will involve 10 volunteers from Programme Countries, and will be implemented in Craiova for 9 months, basically in three communities were Rroma youngsters are living and studying (only in a separated manner from the Romanian pupils).

RuraLearn, Romania, August 15th 2009-February 15th 2009

RuraLearn was a Group EVS project developed by ARDR in Gorj county. A total of 16 volunteers from 12 different countries implemented activities like: set up a theathre group, a vocal group, guitar lessons, social campaigns and more.

Learning by doing, Romania, August 15th 2009-February 15th 2009

Learning By Doing is a group EVS project that shall gather for 6 months 10 young volunteers from all over Europe, giving them opportunities to experience and grow on personal level as well as the challenge to contribute to the European Awareness and civic involvement of the project’ target group.  The target group consist of young people aged from 12 – 25. The various activities that are to be developed within the EVS project in general as well as additional activities developed by the organization and its members will provide the volunteers with a rich intercultural learning context:

Active Citizenship Tolerance and Youth Volunteership in Europe has been one of the most succesful project of A.R.D.R. in terms of networking. During the 6 months of the evs project, the volunteers have done a lot of activities for the youth in their communities and force them to interact with each other.

EVS volunteer in Romania
Hello, my name is Eva, I am 20 years old and I come from Spain! I am shy and a little introverted, but I am patient and nice. I enjoy the planning and doing the activities and I think that what we are doing here is very good. I came to Romania because I signed up to become a volunteer for EVS. I have never worked with children before, but I hope that I will be good at it. I hope to learn many things while being here in Romania (the culture, the language, the customs), and I also hope that the Romanians can learn something about Spain from me.
