Volunteer work
Targu Carbunesti is one of the most important cities in Gorj County. With a population of 10.000 inhabitants it offers the volunteers a lot of potential to implement their own ideas.
At first, the volunteers will be directed to the High School where they will have the possibility to work with the pupils within the High School.
Therefore part of the volunteer’s work will be to inform the youngsters and to raise the awareness on the benefits that volunteering brings at personal and professional level. The strengths in carrying out the activities are the involvement of member of community and personal development of each volunteer.
Cultural & free time
Being a big city, Carbunesti offers a great variaty of local pubs and even some nearby discos.
There are a lot of opportunities for the volunteers to spend some time with the youth from the city.
From Carbunesti is very easy to reach Ticleni and spend time with the other volunteers or reach Targu Jiu, the county seat of Gorj County.
Learning activities
On arrival, the volunteers will enter in a Capacity Building program for minimum 14 days. During the Capacity Building program they will receive trainings to build their competences on animation, conflict management, project management, group dynamics, community youth development.
They will also be provided with Romanian language classes to have a minimum of language skills that will help them to carry out better their activities and to cope with the community.
Accomodation & food
In Carbunesti the volunteers volunteers will stay in apartments with one room, kitchen and bathroom. The living conditions respect the minimum of standards, and the volunteers should not expect luxury. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and not to damage the things inside the apartment.
For the food, the volunteers will receive a monthly allowance for food and pocket money which they can spend as they want. They are responsible for buying and preparing their food.
