Most of the work of the volunteers has been concentrated on the Youths in the High School. The activities developed in the High School are very diverse, starting from a two days thematic excursion, concerts, debates, talent show, cultural evenings and more. Novaci also has a Youth Club with computers, internet acces and a printer. The Youth Club is a strong supporter of the EVS volunteering programm and will support the volunteers in any activities they wish to implement in the club or in Novaci. Cultural & free time In Novaci there are a lot of options to spend your free time. Very close to Novaci is the ski resort Ranca. During the last few years a lot of houses have been built in Ranca and for sure in just a few years Ranca will become a pearl of the Parang mountains. Novaci, Baia de Fier and Polovragi are turistical places. A lot for tourists come very year to visit the caves "Pestera Muierii" and "Pestera Polovragi", the Polovragi Monastery. Some people just come for the clean air, the beautiful landscape, the cheese, the food or even to relax. Learning activities On arrival, the volunteers will enter in a Capacity Building program for minimum 14 days. During the Capacity Building program they will receive trainings to build their competences on animation, conflict management, project management, group dynamics, community youth development. They will also be provided with Romanian language classes to have a minimum of language skills that will help them to carry out better their activities and to cope with the community. Accomodation & food In Novaci volunteers will stay in a apartment with one room. They will live in the High School dormitory. The hosting conditions are of great standards. The volunteers will have access to bathroom and a kitchen. The volunteers will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and not to damage the things inside the apartment. For the food, the volunteers will receive a monthly allowance for food and pocket money which they can spend as they want. They will be responsible for buying and preparing their food.
