Volunteer work
The volunteers can be hosted for long periods of time throughout the whole year.
Teach high school students about human rights, youth involvement, democracy and social projects. Project: ,,Citizenship of Childhood”
Help and monitor the students in the process of building and executing their projects
Train the participants in the project ,,Model United Nations” developed by OAJNU on United Nations System, negotiations and topics of global agenda
Fully work during the Model United Nation in Córdoba and other cities of Argentina where OAJNU develops this project
Work with young people, participants in ,,Technology for Change Program”: helping them in using informatics tools and developing actions of communitarian strengthening and youth involvement. All this in Rosario del Saladillo, a small town in the Province of Córdoba
Work with vulnerable youth population of immigrants in communities in the south of Córdoba in order to create spaces of integration with the natives
Fund raising activities to obtain external support for the projects in which the volunteer works
Participate in projects in which OAJNU collaborates with other institutions that belong to the civil society
Cultural & free time
The city contains many historical monuments preserved from the Spanish colonialism, especially buildings of the Roman Catholic Church. The most recognizable is perhaps the Jesuit Block (Spanish: Manzana Jesuítica), declared in 2000 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO which consists of a group of buildings dating from the 17th century, including the Montserrat School and the colonial university campus (today the historical museum of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba).
There is also a relevant offer of Museums: Palacio Ferreyra – Evita Museum, Natural Sciences Museum, Caraffa Museum, Paseo del Buen Pastor.
In Cordoba is also a vast range of educative, cultural and recreational for youngster. In fact, Córdoba has more than 100 sports clubs, hundreds of Gyms, more than 25 Language Centers, Hundreds of Language teachers, many institutions focused on informal education and support for university students, many arts institutes (Music, different dancing styles, painting, sculpture), cyber bars with internet connection, and a wide offer in terms of nightlife.
Learning activities
The learning activities offered by OAJNU are:
- 2 months of intensive course of Spanish language
- 1 week of training about OAJNU and the way it works
- 1 Month intensive training related to the tasks the volunteer will be in charge of
Accomodation & food
The volunteer will live in Córdoba with a host family in a residential area or in a flat with other volunteers in the downtown area.
The food is going to be entirely covered. The host family will provide him breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, lunch or dinner out of his/her house will be covered if it is motivated on their job responsibilities. In case the volunteer lives in a flat, a monthly allowance will be given for food.

OAJNU is a strong and prestigious institution that has more than 90 members in Córdoba. All of them young volunteers with a strong social commitment and opened to share their experiences with foreign volunteers.
The responsible for human resources of the Executive Committee in OAJNU-Córdoba will coordinate the volunteer’s activities and will name a mentor to help, support and monitor the volunteers. The mentor will encourage him/her to successfully develop his/her daily activities and will help him/her in their insertion in the normal life of Córdoba. The mentor will also assist the volunteer in any problem he/she has during the period of the project.
The mentor will organize a monthly meeting with volunteers to analyze and evaluate the evolution of each volunteer and his/her satisfaction with OAJNU.
